Lyra Vale: They enter from separate doors—one with royal grace, the other with quiet psychic certainty—but there is no denying the energy in the room when these two heroines of the Tech War take their seats. Princess Yin Ty Giogi of the Innitiate Kingdom, poised in regal silk, her gaze steady but curious. Charlyne, umanomagi telepath and battlefield asset, sharp-eyed and enigmatic. They’ve never shared a battlefield, but their presence together tells a story the history books haven’t dared to touch.
LYRA: Princess Yin, Charlyne—it’s an honor to speak with you both. You two never met directly during the time of the book, correct?
PRINCESS YIN: Not formally, no. But I do recall seeing her once… at the Cirque di Umanomagi. From a distance. I thought she was rather pretty… for an umanomagi. [she smirks just enough to suggest she’s teasing]

CHARLYNE: [smiling faintly] We all saw you were there with the Royal Family. It was a new sort of excitement for one of our umanomagi shows.
LYRA: [smiling] And may I say, Princess, your gown is as striking as your reputation—those silk panels are breathtaking.
PRINCESS YIN: [gracefully inclines her head] You’re very kind, Miss Vale. One must look the part, after all.
LYRA: [glancing at Charlyne] You seem a little tense, Charlyne. Everything alright?
CHARLYNE: [chuckles softly] Honestly? This interview is more nerve-racking than being on the front lines with bullets flying past my head. At least in battle, you know what’s coming.
LYRA: [smiles softly] I'll try to keep it light then.
CHARLYNE: Thanks. [small nervous giggle]
LYRA: I imagine the Cirque holds a lot of memories for both of you, especially before things escalated with the Tech War.
CHARLYNE: It does. Back then, everything felt... brighter. Simpler. We were performers, yes, but we were a family too. Before the assassinations. Before... the army.
LYRA: Speaking of which—Charlyne, you served in one of the most vital battlefield roles. You were the voice in everyone’s head—literally. That must mean you know all the secrets of the umanomagi.
CHARLYNE: [blushing slightly] I might know more than I let on... especially about some people. [glances away with a knowing smile]
LYRA: You’re thinking of someone in particular?
CHARLYNE: [after a pause] Let’s just say... not everyone is as cold as they seem. Even the hard-nosed ones. [smirk]
LYRA: Princess, I have to ask—Cricket saved your life twice. That’s no small thing. What did you think of him?

PRINCESS YIN: [crossing her legs with poise] I mean... he did save me. I suppose I was grateful.
LYRA: Just grateful?
PRINCESS YIN: [avoids eye contact, then sighs with a crooked smile] Fine. I was a little… interested. It’s not every day an insect-faced umanomagi in a fedora calls you “Miss” and launches himself at a monster.
CHARLYNE: He has a way of making an impression.
PRINCESS YIN: Twice. Twice, he saved me. And no, I won’t pretend I wasn’t... intrigued. But you’ll have to read the book if you want to know more.
LYRA: [grinning] You heard her, readers. The book is War of the Umanomagi, available now at www.umanomagi.com.
LYRA: Charlyne, you mentioned battlefield secrets earlier. You once intercepted an assassin’s mind and uncovered a plot to attack the royal family?
CHARLYNE: I did. They were planning a full breach of the palace. Nasty bunch. I saw... enough.
PRINCESS YIN: I agree. Ruthless. Organized. If it weren’t for Cricket and his team...
LYRA: What can you tell us about that night? The second rescue?
PRINCESS YIN: I don’t like to dwell on it, but it was chaos. Blood. Screams. And then he—Cricket—just appeared. Fast as a shadow. Stronger than anyone I'd ever seen. I don’t like to think on that night but he got me out alive. It all happened so fast.
CHARLYNE: He had help. Zach, Monkey, Tapps… we all played our part. But Cricket always had a way of showing up exactly when he was needed most.
LYRA: Speaking of armies… Charlyne, during our research, something interesting came up. Wouldn’t it be fair to say that the idea to form the umanomagi army came from—Princess Yin?
CHARLYNE: [mock-innocent] That’s what I heard...
PRINCESS YIN: [smiling shyly] I guess… you’ll have to read the book to find out.

LYRA: [laughing] You're both maddening and masterful at keeping secrets.
CHARLYNE: If we told you everything, what reason would people have to pick up War of the Umanomagi?
LYRA: Point taken. And once again, readers—you can uncover the rest of the truth by reading War of the Umanomagi, available now at www.umanomagi.com.
Closing Thoughts
They didn’t come to give away everything. But what Princess Yin and Charlyne did offer in this rare conversation was a glimpse into two very different lives, forever changed by war—and by one extraordinary umanomagi boy with a fedora and a heart full of bravery.
For the rest of the story, as they say… read the book.
